App: wishlist flow

1. Information We Collect

When you install the App, we automatically collect certain information from your Shopify account to make the wishlist and discount functionality work seamlessly:

  • Shopify Shop Data: Shop domain, email address, and shop owner details to manage your account.
  • Customer Wishlist Data: We collect and store items that your customers add to their wishlists to display them correctly.
  • Cart and Checkout Data: When a customer moves a wishlist item to the cart, we track this action to automatically apply the designated discount.
  • Customer Identifiers: Unique identifiers (like Shopify customer IDs or session tokens) to remember which wishlist belongs to which customer.


2. No Financial Information Collected

Since the App is provided completely free of charge, we do not implement any billing mechanisms, nor do we collect, process, or store any financial or credit card information.


3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to provide and improve the App's core functionalities:

  • To enable customers to create and manage their wishlists.
  • To detect when a wishlist item is added to the cart and apply the appropriate discount.
  • To provide merchant dashboards showing wishlist analytics (e.g., most wishlisted products).
  • To provide technical support and troubleshoot issues.


4. Data Retention and Storage

  • We store your data securely in our database (MySQL).
  • We retain wishlist and cart data only for as long as necessary to provide the service.
  • If you uninstall the App, your data will be automatically deleted or anonymized within 48 hours, in compliance with Shopify’s mandatory data deletion webhooks.


5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or your customers' data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We only share data with Shopify to ensure the app functions properly and complies with Shopify’s ecosystem requirements.


6. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We use secure servers and standard encryption protocols (SSH/HTTPS) to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.


7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA Compliance)

If you or your customers are located in certain regions (like the EU or California), you have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Our app supports Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) to help you honor these rights instantly.


8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
